Professional Experience

As King’s Director of Client Strategy, Staci adds value to our vibrant team. She is passionate about developing integrated marketing, advertising, public relations and digital media plans for current and prospective clients. Staci is a trusted advisor with strong business acumen and strategic vision, quickly identify and responding to needs with absolute integrity and an uncanny aptitude for unscrambling knotted circumstances.

Staci is a collaborative leader with 20 years’ combined experience in communication, public relations, marketing and human resources in the education, nonprofit, association, agriculture, trade and construction sectors. Much of her career has been focused on building programs that improve the quality of life for others.

Her path began assisting refugee students learning English as a Second Language, building trusting relationships with families to enhance their acculturation — and coaching peers on cultural awareness. She was a founding staff member of the Lansing School District’s Center for Language Culture and Communication Arts, the first and only program of its kind in the country at the time.

Staci applied the same empathy and compassion at EVE (End Violent Encounters), a Lansing-based domestic violence shelter where she led volunteer recruitment and training while building community support and awareness through education, communication and fundraising. She collaborated with teachers, social workers and administrators from three Ingham County school districts to implement a dating violence prevention curriculum for middle and high school students.

Those same talents served her well in her decade-plus service for a statewide association and national checkoff program representing Michigan dairy farmers. Her team of seven developed award-winning marketing and communication programs and strategies, leveraging industry relations, media and online influencers to build consumer trust and understanding. To address issues and stay ahead of potential crises, she coordinated a 90-member statewide spokesperson network — veterinarians, physicians, farmers and food safety experts — to inform consumers and influencers about modern milk production. Her passion for feeding people led to developing a statewide milk donation program, Pour it Forward, in partnership with Kroger Co. of Michigan, sending millions of gallons of milk to Michigan food banks and serving as a model for the national Great American Milk Drive.

Over the last five years, Staci has served as founder and principal of SGN Consulting, bringing all her capabilities to bear as a deep asset for clients in the construction, agriculture, small business and nonprofit sectors. With a keen strategic mind and gift for seeing several steps ahead, her experience, education, intuition, wisdom, critical thinking and foresight helps her cut through layers of clutter, evaluate and extrapolate scenarios far beyond the status quo, then propose measures for the here-and-now that help ensure outcomes aligned with clients’ goals.

Staci holds a B.A. in communication from Michigan State University and is a graduate of Michigan State University’s Great Lakes Leadership Academy.

My Michigan.

I find my deepest peace near large bodies of water, so one of my favorite activities is hiking Lake Michigan dunes with my husband and daughter. Nothing’s more soul-filling than the recharge and recalibration of being on the water with my favorite people.

Outside the workplace Staci enjoys broadening her worldly palate, powering down the Lansing River Trail and collecting rocks at the lakeshore. Just make way if you catch her at the roller rink!
