I’m sure all of you who own and/or manage a small or medium-sized company know that the days of “business as usual” are long gone, and goal setting and strategic planning are necessary – rather, mandatory – to steer your way successfully through the year.
As I write this, it’s a week into January 2015 and King Media is putting the finishing touches on our business plan for 2015. We’ve already implemented several new business initiatives and, fortunately, have many leads and opportunities just as the year begins.
What we are NOT doing is taking a passive approach to building our business, and we will be executing multiple strategic initiatives. How we have created this environment is as follows:
- I have clearly identified the volume of new business I want to achieve in the 2015 calendar year
- I have allowed my entire team to provide input during this process
- I have defined the roles that each team member is to take and, finally,
- We have defined both the specific business verticals and agency services we want to grow in 2015
Because King Media is a marketing and advertising agency and we believe very strongly that the best results come from this approach to planning, we can help your small or medium-size business develop a plan – as well as execute, refine, test and analyze the results, all in-house and as part of our business relationship.
Wherever you are in this process, don’t wait until the year gets away from you. Even if you are as busy as we are now, we’re not losing sight of our goals. The MSU Spartan football team showed us last week that it’s a full 60 minute game and to keep the focus on the prize. Yogi said it best: “It ain’t over til it’s over.”
