King Media Wins Five International MARCOM Awards

EAST LANSING, MI: Local marketing and advertising agency King Media won five international awards from MarCom, one of the largest, most-respected creative competitions in the world. The two platinum, two gold and one honorable mention award all recognize the agency’s work in strategic communications.

The platinum awards recognize King Media’s work for two county health departments. The agency’s ‘The Dirt on Weed’ campaign for the Berrien County Health Department was an integrated marketing campaign that educated the community on various ways to mitigate risks related to marijuana use. The campaign included outdoor, radio, print and social media advertising, and launched in September 2019.

The ‘About Last Night’ campaign for the Kent County Health Department rebranded a program developed to help curb binge drinking among young adults, ages 21-34. The campaign reminds the audience that you can drink without getting drunk – that you can have fun, and know when you’re done.

King Media’s ‘Vacay Every Day’ campaign for Cornerstone Alliance received a gold award for its community-focused effort to increase population in Berrien County. This multi-channel campaign encourages area tourists to consider making Southwest Michigan their home, and launched in October 2019 with television, outdoor and radio advertising.

The ‘Explore More’ campaign for Mt. Pleasant Public Schools received a gold award for its focus on bringing families back to the district. Through television, radio, outdoor and social media, the campaign showcases how students in the district can ‘Explore More’ for their entire educational experience.

The agency also earned an honorable mention for its crisis communication work with Grand Haven Area Public Schools, recognizing the partnership between King Media and the district during a variety of crisis situations.

The MarCom awards honor King Media alongside global brands like Aflac, Bank of America, BMW, Hilton, IBM, LG, Sony and more. These awards bring King Media to a total of 25 national and international awards in just four years, demonstrating the agency’s high standard of strategic planning, creative execution and meaningful results.
