EAST LANSING, Mich. – King Media has been named an honorable mention in two categories by PR News for work done in partnership with the Greater Lansing Housing Coalition. The multimedia campaign created for the ICE 5-Year Fair and Affordable Housing Plan was chosen in January as a finalist in both the Branding/Rebranding and Marketing categories, along with four other submissions from across the country. The PR News Nonprofit PR Awards were held at the historic National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, March 12, 2015.
King Media was the only organization from mid-Michigan to be chosen as a finalist for the PR News Nonprofit PR Awards, and one of just three organizations selected from the state of Michigan. Coleen King, President & Founder of King Media, said,
“It is so rewarding to be recognized for our hard work on this campaign not only locally, but also on a national level. It was a privilege to be selected to promote this initiative, but it was even more satisfying to work on a project that addresses real issues in our community that need to be called to light. Affordable housing is key to economic growth and development not only for businesses currently in the area, but also for attracting and bringing new business to Michigan.”
More than 100 finalists from countries around the world were chosen in categories including Event PR, Media Relations, Public Service, Social Media, and Social Responsibility. Other agencies chosen as finalists for the PR News Nonprofit PR Awards include Havas Worldwide Paris, Weber Shandwick, the National Audubon Society, Partnership for Drug-Free Kids, FleishmanHillard, Finn Partners, Compassion International, and the American Heart Association.
