The Dirt on Weed

With the legalization of first medical and now recreational marijuana, it’s easy for people to focus on the benefits of smoking – without thinking of the potential consequences. Specifically, for underage youth, smoking is not only illegal (until age 21), but it also has a seriously adverse effect on brain development. For breastfeeding and nursing mothers, there is little research to determine what effects smoking (either recreationally or for medicinal purposes) has on a fetus or a baby. And in all cases, keeping marijuana stored safely and away from little hands is essential.
