King Media specializes in strategic brand development, media buying, graphic design, website development, digital marketing, event marketing, public/media relations, multimedia advertising, brochure design, and production support services such as print management, promotional products, copywriting, photography and broadcast production.

Ms. King’s career in marketing, advertising and public relations has spanned more than three decades, commencing at the prestigious national rep firm Avery Knodel in Chicago as media buyer. She negotiated with the nation’s largest ad agencies on behalf of her clients: Proctor and Gamble, the American Dairy Association, Unilever, Kellogg and Sears. Her responsibilities included media buying, strategic planning, account management, and on occasion, creative development and execution. She also spearheaded initiatives in product branding and new product introduction, test markets and product launches.

She took this experience and fierce commitment to the success of her clients’ business objectives with her when she founded King Media in 1999. Based in East Lansing, Michigan, King Media has grown to provide full-service advertising, marketing, public relations and digital media services to clients in the Midwest and throughout the country.

Her efforts have been recognized by her business peers, having been nominated for such awards as the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Greater Lansing Business Monthly Entrepreneur of the Year, and PRNews Nonprofit PR Awards in Marketing and Branding initiatives.

Ms. King has also been invited as an industry expert guest speaker for a variety of associations. Among these organizations are the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Lansing, the Michigan Boating Industries Association, the Lansing Technology and Innovation Center, the National Association of Career Women, the National Exchange Club: Michigan Chapter, and the International Countertop Expo in Las Vegas. In addition, she was a featured speaker on branding at the Michigan Bankers Association Annual Conference. Ms. King has spoken on subjects including strategic brand development, website design, digital brand development, social media and marketing. King Media also participates in many community charity events, including the development of creative, messaging and branding to promote the March of Dimes annual premier fundraising event, Signature Chefs Auction.

With a BA in Communications from Michigan State University, Coleen is a frequent guest speaker at her alma mater, opening the minds of students to always “DREAM BIG”.
